While reading my bible one day, Matthew 20:29-34 jumped out at me.

29 And as they went out of Jericho, a great crowd followed him. 30 And behold, there were two blind men sitting by the roadside, and when they heard that Jesus was passing by, they cried out, “Lord, have mercy on us, Son of David!” 31 The crowd rebuked them, telling them to be silent, but they cried out all the more, “Lord, have mercy on us, Son of David!” 32 And stopping, Jesus called them and said, “What do you want me to do for you?” 33 They said to him, blind man“Lord, let our eyes be opened.” 34 And Jesus in pity touched their eyes, and immediately they recovered their sight and followed him.   English Standard Version

I am sure it was obvious to Jesus what they needed, but He wanted to hear it from them.  He did not assume what they needed.  Isn’t that what prayer is all about?  God wants to hear our requests, and then respond to them.  Anyway, the scene came alive in my mind’s eye, but instead of people crying out to see physically, I could see that people were longing to see on another level.  They were longing to see something that would bring them comfort, hope, encouragement and wisdom.

I came to faith in Jesus Christ at the age of 18.  Soon after, I attended, and graduated, from a three-year bible school.  I have met challenge after challenge in this life.  There have been many times when I have called out to God to see more clearly, not with my eyes, but with my understanding, with my spirit.  Time after time He has met me on the pages of His Word with a timely message.  Sometimes without even asking, He gives me a word.  He has encouraged, comforted, challenged, and even disciplined me through His Word.

While there are many people sharing the Word of God, it is usually embellished with their insights, and interpretations.  Here at Wisdom from God’s Word the main goal is to let God’s word do the talking.  We could read part of the bible ten times and the eleventh time see something we never saw before.  It is living and powerful all by itself.living word

Would you like to receive timely wisdom and encouragement for each day?  Will you join with me in saying to God, “let my eyes be opened to see the Word”?  I hope you will join me at Wisdom from God’s Word.

Many Blessings,
